Seycove Auction
The fundamental purpose of the Auction is to support the Seycove Scholarship
and Bursary Program; in addition the Auction equally supports the Seycove
Family of Schools’ Parent Advisory Councils - Seycove Secondary Community
School, Cove Cliff Elementary School, École Dorothy Lynas Elementary, and
Sherwood Park Elementary School.
Seycove Secondary Community School opened doors in September of 1979 as
a Grade 7 - 9 school. In 1983 the first graduates crossed the stage in their caps
and gowns. A small group of enthusiastic parents decided they wanted to set of
tradition of providing scholarships and bursaries to recognize excellence in the
graduation class.
The first auction was a terrific success, not only raising money to put directly into
trust, but also providing a venue for a fun community event. Each year, since its
first in 1983, the event has grown in popularity.
