I have worked at The Mulberry for almost 6 years and still look forward to coming to work each day. I love that each day brings something different. I feel useful, inspired and encouraged by the residents and the caring individuals I work with. I have increased my knowledge and developed my skills through the experience I have gained on the job at different levels. My mentors have set an excellent example for me to follow and have supported me to move forward. I was recently given the opportunity to be Resident Services Manager and am grateful that I can continue to be part of a team that strives to build a positive community where everyone is recognized, respected and accepted.

I often feel like I am the luckiest man alive. I wake up in the morning and actually look forward to going to work most days I can't wait to get there. Not that I don't have an exciting life outside of work, I do. But knowing that I get to spend quality time with like-minded people who share my energy and passion for what we do that puts a bounce in my step. We really are about "where good things come together" great residents and amazing staff, all supported by an owner, President and Administration team that truly values what we do. In 2002, I walked into The Summerhill with hopes of finding a "regular" job. Over the years what that "regular" job has given me are many years of laughter, moments of sadness, and stories of so many lifetimes and unexpectedly filled my heart with Love, Respect, and so much Admiration for the people I've had the privilege of crossing paths with over my years here. Now, 10 years later, I walk both in and out of The Summerhill daily and each time I feel proud to be a part of one man's dream to build a community for seniors not to only live in but to LOVE living in, all with his own Mother in mind. I read somewhere once that "every job is a self-portrait of the person who did it!" I believe that Pacific Arbour Retirement Communities is a definite reflection of Mr. Rainer Muller and his vision of creating a place for our seniors to be able to live a healthy and active life and look forward to their future.
